Happy New Year! As much as we’re looking forward to 2025, we’re also looking back at 2024 and are excited about the accomplishments and new connections we made in the past year.
First of all, we installed 1239.55 kW of solar in 2024. That’s enough power to drive a car around the earth 58 times! Also, if you could drive to the moon, you could go there and back twice on that amount of energy. For 2025, our goal is to more than double that amount!
We have also loved getting to know our Humans of Uprise and sharing your stories. If you haven’t checked out any of these great interviews, please take a moment to read about your neighbors — and not just their solar stories, but also a bit about their life in DC. We love the District, and love hearing about the cool things our customers are up to!
Now, without further ado, please enjoy our Uprise Ins and Outs for 2025 List!
As we thought about our ins and outs for 2025 list, we came up with some fun and silly ones but also a couple that are serious. Mainly, we’re serious about decarbonization. Every solar panel we install offsets the burning of fossil fuels, a main part of our mission and something we’re proud of. Every solar panel also lowers our customers’ electric bills, which we love to see.
A few other “in” things from the list we’d love to highlight:
We hope to see you at the Healthy Homes Fair on March 29 from 1-5 at the DC Armory. It’s a great place to come see all the ways you can electrify your life and try things out for yourself. There will be 100+ exhibitors, induction cooking demonstrations, an appliance “petting zoo,” and an e-bike tasting party. Don’t miss it!
We’re obsessed with heat pumps these days. Especially if you have solar, an air source heat pump will save you a lot of money on HVAC and make your home more comfortable. You can read all about heat pumps at Rewiring America’s Heat Pump Guide. And check out Uprise’s Finance Director’s experience electrifying his home, including a brand new heat pump water heater!
Last, we feel strongly about local businesses. We try to shop local whenever we can, and support the local businesses that make the DMV great. Especially when it comes to solar, trust is important. Often your local solar installer will be transparent and provide great customer service because they’re your neighbor. That’s how we operate, and we support any local installer who does the same. Sometimes solar research can be daunting because there’s a lot of misinformation out there. Check out our blog post about how to choose a reputable installer and avoid the solar bros and scammers out there.
We’d love to hear from you!
We hope you enjoyed our ideas about what’s in for 2025. We wish everyone a great new year, and hope your days are sunny! If you’d like to join us in the decarb effort, just get in touch. We’d love to put together a free, detailed solar quote for you!
